To display a three-dimensional of high quality having a wide viewing angle characteristic in a three-dimensional display method of a DFD (Depth Fused 3D)system.
A display face closer to an observer out of a pair of display faces having a display position of a three-dimensional solid image therebetween is defined as a first display face, and the other display face farther from the observer is defined as a second display face, and luminance or transmittance of a two-dimensional image to be displayed on the first display face and that of a two-dimensional image to be displayed on the second display face are calculated on the basis of texture image information and depth information, and n front two-dimensional images to be displayed on the first display face and n rear two-dimensional images to be displayed on the second display face are obtained from n viewing position coordinate values and the display position of the three-dimensional solid image, and the n front two-dimensional images and the n rear two-dimensional images are averaged respectively, and a two-dimensional image resulting from averaging the n front two-dimensional images and a two-dimensional image resulting from averaging the n rear two-dimensional images are displayed on the first display face and the second display face respectively.
