Abstract:
To provide a stereoscopic image display device which enables visual recognition from any direction with less limitations on a visual field angle and enables display of a moving image.SOLUTION: A stereoscopic image display device according to an embodiment comprises: a three-dimensional pixel unit in which a plurality of pixel cells formed of optical materials whose optical characteristics can be electrically changed is three-dimensionally arranged so as to be apart from each other, and the plurality of pixel cells is electrically connected in a transparent wiring pattern; a backlight which emits illumination light to the three-dimensional pixel unit; and an arithmetic/control circuit which individually controls the pixel cells via the wiring pattern on the basis of the input three-dimensional video data and causes the three-dimensional pixel unit to function as a transmission type hologram.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
