NEW MATERIAL:4-Acyloxy-1-(2-substituted ethoxy)benzenes expressed by formula I (R1, R2 and R3 are each H, alkyl and aryl which may be substituted with a proper substituent group; X is halogen, hydroxyl group, alkylsulfonyloxy or arylsulfonyloxy).
USE: Useful as an intermediate for synthesizing a substituted aminoethoxycarbachlor derivative useful as a peripheral vasodilator, hypotensor, cerebral circulation metabolism improving agent and antiasthmatic agent.
PREPARATION: 4-Acyl-1-(2-substituted ethoxy)benzenes are treated with a peracid to provide the compound expressed by formula I. A compound expressed by formula II is also a novel compound and synthesized by reacting 4-acylphenols expressed by formula III with a compound expressed by formula IV (X1 is halogen, etc.; Z is halogen, etc.).
