Abstract:
2-Trifluoromethylalkanesulphonanilides substituted in the p position have the following formula in which R<1> and R<2> denote an alkyl group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms and n is 0 or 1 or 2, with the proviso that R<1> and R<2> are not simultaneously the methyl group. The compounds of the formula I may also be present as salts. An agent for modifying the growth of higher plants contains as active component at least one new compound of the formula I. In a method of modifying the growth of higher plants, a compound of the formula I is applied to the plants.
