Abstract:

NEW MATERIAL:A 4,5-difluorobenzotrifluoride derivative shown by the formula (R1 is Cl or F; R2 is Cl, F or H).

EXAMPLE: 2-Chloro-4,5-fluorobenzotrifluoride.

USE: A raw material for drugs such as antibacterial agents, etc., and agricultural chemicals.

PREPARATION: (a') 4,5-Difluorobenzotrifluoride, (b') 3,4,5-trifluorobenzotrifluoride or (c') 3-chloro-4,5-difluorobenzotrifluoride is nitrated and the nitro group of the reaction product is chlorinated to give (a) 2-chloro-4,5-benzotrifluoride, (b) 2-chloro-3,4,5-trifluorobenzotrifluoride or (c) 2,3-dichloro-4,5- difluorobenzotrifluoride.
