Abstract:

NEW MATERIAL:A compound shown by the formula I (R1 is tert-butyl or phenyl; R2 is H or lower alkyl).

EXAMPLE: 3-Phenyl-4H-[1,3,4]-thiadiazolo-[2,3-C][1,2,4]-triazin-4-one.

USE: A herbicide harmless to agricultural and gardening crops.

PROCESS: A 3-thio-4-amino-1,2,4-triazine-3,5(2H, 4H)-dione derivative shown by the formula II is reacted with a carboxylic acid shown by the formula R2COOH in the presence of a sulfonic acid shown by the formula R3SO3H, to give a compound shown by the formula I . The amount of the carboxylic acid used is preferably 1.1W10times the amount of the compound shown by the formula II, and the amount of the sulfonic acid is 1.1W3 times. Preferably the raw material compounds, etc. are blended and heated at 100W150°C for 1W10hrs.
