Abstract:

To provide a new, highly stable, easily handleable, and advantageously storable and formulable 5-[{6-(2-fluorobenzyl)oxy-2-naphthyl}methyl]-2, 4-thiazolidinone crystal distinguishable from a known crystal.

The 5-[{6-(2-fluorobenzyl)oxy-2-naphthyl}methyl]-2, 4-thiazolinedione A-form crystal is characterized by giving a powder X-ray diffraction pattern having characteristic absorption peaks (2θ) at 11.5°±0.3°, 14.5°±0.2°, 16.2°±0.3°, 17.0°±0.3°, 17.7°±0.2°, 18.6°±0.3°, 19.1°±0.2°, 21.3°±0.4°, 22.4°±0.5°, 25.7°±0.5°, and 28.3°±0.5°. A method for producing the same and a medicinal preparation containing the same are provided. B, C, and D form crystals of the compound are also provided.
