Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:A 5-fluorouracil derivative expressed by formula I (R1 is H or lower alkyl; R2 is 1W20C straight-chain or branched chain alkyl; X is O or single bond) and pharmacologically acceptable salt thereof.
EXAMPLE: 4-O-Pivaloyloxymethyl-5-fluorouracil.
USE: An antitumor agent.
PREPARATION: A compound expressed by formula II (M is Na, K, Ag, Hg, etc.; R3 is a protecting group of hydroxyl group, such as halogeno-lower alkyl or alkyl substituted by 1W3 aryl groups) is reacted with a compound expressed by formula III (Z is halogen, alkylcarbonyloxy, etc.) to provide a compound expressed by formula IV. The protecting group of the hydroxyl group is then eliminated to afford the aimed compound expressed by formula I.
