Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:A compound shown by the formula I (A is S, or SO2).
EXAMPLE: 5'-Deoxy-5'-p-nitrobenzenesulfonyl-5-fluorouridine.
USE: An antitumor agent.
PREPARATION: For example, 2,5'-O-cyclo-5-fluorouridine shown by the formula II is reacted with p-nitrothiophenol, etc., in a solvent such as dimethyl sulfoxide, etc. at room temperature W 100°C for several tens hours to give a compound shown by the formula I (A is S), then, this compound is oxidized with an oxidiz ing agent (e.g., aqueous solution of hydrogen peroxide-acetic acid, etc.), to give a sulfonyl derivative.
