Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain 590MPa class shape steel having a high strength and excellent in toughness as-rolled at a low cost by specifying the compsn. composed of C, Si, Mn, Cu, Ti, Mg, Nb, V, Mo, N, O and Fe and limiting the contents of B and Al among inevitable impurities.
SOLUTION: A 590MPa class rolled shape steel having a compsn. contg., by weight, 0.02 to 0.06% C, 0.05 to 0.25% Si, 0.87 to 1.6% Mn, 0.7 to 1.5% Cu, 0.012 to 0.030% Ti, 0.0005 to 0.0050% Mg, 0.005 to 0.03% Nb, 0.01 to 0.1% V, 0.05 to 0.4% Mo, 0.004 to 0.010% N and 0.003 to 0.006% O, also satisfying Ti/N; 3.0 to 3.5, furthermore contg., at need, one or more kinds of 0.1 to 1.0% Cr and 0.1 to 2.0% Ni, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities, and among this impurities, the content of B is limited to ≤0.0003% B and that of Al is limited top ≤0.005% Al is obtd. This high tensile strength rolled shape steel is obtd. by executing a water cooling-rolling cycle after hot rolling and executing colling at 700 to 400°C at 0.5 to 10°C/s.
