Abstract:
To provide a 6-cylinder engine, capable of compacting a body size, and restricting vibration.
Both groups of cylinders are disposed in parallel or at a bank angle of less than 15° between the both groups. Crank pins for one crankshaft 4a corresponding to one group of cylinders are disposed at every 120° in order of first cylinder, third cylinder, and fifth cylinder in such a way that when the crank pin for the first cylinder is at the upper dead center, the crank pin for sixth cylinder on the other crankshaft 4b corresponding to the other cylinder group is at the upper dead center. Further, the crank pins for the other crankshaft are disposed at every 120° in order of sixth cylinder, fourth cylinder, and second cylinder.
