Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I (R1 is H or lower alkyl group; R2 is an alkyl group which may be substituted; R3 is lower alkyl group; n is 0, 1, or 2; R" is an organic group which is linked to each other via 0 or S; R5 is H or carboxyl- protecting group), and its salt.
EXAMPLE: 7β-[D-α-( 4-Ethyl-2, 3-dioxo-1-piperazine-carboxamido )-β-hydroxypropanamido]-7α-methoxy-3-[5-( 1-methyl-1,2,3,4-tetrazolyl )thiomethyl]-Δ3-cephem- 4-carboxylic acid.
USE: An antibacterial having a wide antibacterial activity, stable to β-lactamase.
PROCESS: A compound of formula II is reacted with a reactive derivative of a compound of formula III in an inert solvent at -60W80°C to give the compound of formula I.
