Abstract:
To obtain an acrylate compound in which a bulky substituent suitable for a production on a commercial scale is introduced capable of being produced and refined by a simple process.
This 8-alkyl-8-tricyclodecanyl (meth)acrylate is represented by the chemical formula 1 (wherein, R1 is methyl or ethyl; and R2 is H or methyl). The 8-alkyl-8-tricyclodecanyl (meth)acrylate is produced by synthesizing 8-alkyl-8-tricyclodecanol by reacting tricyclodecane-8-on with an alkyl Grignard reagent or an alkyl lithium reagent and reacting the obtained 8-alkyl-8- tricyclodecanol with (meth)acryloyl chloride.
