NEW MATERIAL: A compd. represented by formula I.

USE: An intermediate for dilticizam.

PROCESS: 4-methoxybenzaldehyde represented by formula II and 8phenylmethyl chloroacetate represented by formula III are reacted at -5-5°C in THF in the presence of a base (e.g. Nap) and the obtained product is brought into contact with 2-aminothiophenol to obtain the compd. represented by formula I.
