Abstract:

NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I [R1 and R2 are each H, (halogenated) alkyl or (halogenated)cycloalkyl, or being of formula II ((n) is 2-6) by their combination with the adjacent N; ring A is of formula III (R3 is H, alkyl or halogen) or formula IV (R4 and R5 are each H or alkyl; ring B is of formula V or formula VI], its optical antipode or its pharmaceutically acceptable acid- added salt.

EXAMPLE: N-(2-Chloroethyl)-N'-(1,2,3,4-tetrahydroacridine-9-yl)urea.

USE: A therapeutic agent for geriatric dementia including Alzheimer's disease.

PREPARATION: For example, a reaction is made between a compound of formula VII and a compound of formula R6-N=C=O [R6 is (halogenated)alkyl or (halogenated)cycloalkyl] to obtain one of the objective compounds of the formula I (wherein R1 is H, and R2 is R6).
