Abstract:

To provide a compound to be polymerized with an industrially-advantageous UV curing device using a high pressure mercury lamp and the like as a high refractive index aromatic polycyclic compound with the excellent transparency without problems of absorption in the ultraviolet region or fluorescence, and its polymerizable composition.

The 9,10-2-substituted [(meth)acryloyloxy]-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-1,4-methanoanthracene compound is obtained by reaction of a compound represented by formula (3) (wherein R1, R2, R3, R4 and R5, which may either be same or different, each represent a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, and X represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group) with a halogenated (meth)acryloyl in the presence of a base. Also there is provided a polymer of the (meth)acrylate compound.
