Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:9,10-Dihydroanthracene-2-alkanoic acids of formula I (Y is C= O or CH2; R1 is H or lower alkyl), and their salts, esters and amide derivatives.
EXAMPLE: Methyl antraquinon-2-ylacetate.
USE: Analgesic antiinflammatory agents. Especially, having little digestive troubles.
PROCESS: For example, dibenz [b, e] oxepine-2-alkanoic acid of formula II, or their salts, esters or amide derivatives are treated with an alkali, to obtain the compounds I wherein Y is C=O, and, further, these compounds are reduced, to obtain other compounds I where in Y is CH2.
