Title:
ABNORMAL ALARM DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5726227
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve inspection by recognizing the abnormal causes of the object to be inspected including status errors and sensor failures and making an alarm which corresponds to their recognition in a system which gives an alarm when the objects to be inspected, such as engine exhaust gas temperatures are abnormal.

CONSTITUTION: When the exhaust temperature of a catalyst converter 6 is stable near approximately 500°C during the engine operation and when an exhaust temperature sensor 8 is normally operated, an alarm signal is not generated from a microcomputer 14 if the engine is operated. Then when the exhaust gas temperature of the catalyst converter 6 reaches the first preset value, for example, 700°C or more due to the accidental fire of the engine, an abnormal recognition routine is executed. When the said temperature exceeds the second preset value, for example, 900°C, any of types of character display, 'Over run', 'abnormal rise due to an accidental fire', and 'connect short' is displayed from an indicator 20 in accordance with the size of its temperature rate of change and a voice to the effect is issued through a voice composite circuit 22 from a speaker 24.
