Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain an abnormality detection device for a flowmeter capable of surely detecting the abnormal state of a flowmeter. CONSTITUTION:Provided are a flowrate difference calculation circuit 30 to sample the flowrate pulse signal Qp sent from an eddy flowmeter 1 with a time difference and get flowrate variation Qs per unit time, and a digital comparator circuit 31 to compare the flowrate variation Qs obtained with the flowrate difference calculation circuit 30 and a reference variation As set in advance and output an alarm signal M based on the comparison result. In the case flowrate change is very large because of such disturbance as noise or part degradation which can not occur for actual flowrate, the output of the alarm signal M is attained and abnormal state of the eddy flowmeter 1 is surely detected. Thus, in the case the eddy flowmeter 1 goes into an abnormal state, the use of the flowrate pulse signal Qp without the consideration can be prevented and no trouble is incurred due to the use of the eddy flowmeter in dealings.
