Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To early determine sensor element crack abnormality of an air-fuel ratio sensor with high accuracy.SOLUTION: An abnormality determination device for the air-fuel ratio sensor includes a valve for opening/closing an atmosphere introduction part so that an atmosphere chamber is set either into an open-to-the-atmosphere state that the atmosphere is introduced into the atmosphere chamber, or into a closed state that the introduction of the atmosphere into the atmosphere chamber is shut off, and a pressure sensor for detecting a pressure in the atmosphere chamber. It determines whether a pressure Ps detected by the pressure sensor is lower than a predetermined threshold pressure Pth or not in the state that the atmosphere introduction part is closed by the valve to set the atmosphere chamber into the closed state and a sensor element is heated by a heater, and determines that the air-fuel ratio sensor is in the state of element crack abnormality when the detected pressure Ps is lower than the threshold pressure Pth.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
