Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology capable of making an abnormality diagnosis of a variable compression ratio mechanism without adding a specific equipment configuration for estimating a compression ratio.SOLUTION: An abnormality diagnostic device for a variable compression ratio mechanism applied to an internal combustion engine includes: a speed difference calculation section for calculating a predetermined speed difference that is a speed difference between engine speed at a predetermined crank angle before a compression top dead center or after the compression top dead center and engine speed in the vicinity of the compression top dead center in a predetermined cylinder when fuel cut processing is being executed; a setting section for calculating a reference value of the predetermined speed difference on the basis of intake air amount of the internal combustion engine and a command signal supplied from a control section and setting a reference range of the predetermined speed difference by considering a predetermined variation of the reference value; and a diagnosis section for making a diagnosis to determine that an abnormality occurs in the variable compression ratio mechanism when the predetermined speed difference is outside the reference range.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
