Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an abnormality judging method of a handrail connection part for a passenger conveyor which is capable of judging abnormality of a steel cord in this handrail connection part.
SOLUTION: A detector 1 equipped with two detecting coils 5A and 5B detecting the extent of leakage flux to be generated from two permanent magnets 3A, 3B magnetizing a steel cord 15 and this magnetized steel cord 15 is made contact with a handrail connection, and the leakage flux detected by this detector is extracted as a waveform, while something wrong with the steel cord 15 in the handrail connection is judged on the basis of this waveform. With this constitution, such a possibility that a tip of this steel cord might pierce through a rubber layer and a cloth layer and be exposed out is thus preventable from occurring.
