Title:
ABRASION-RESISTANT COMPOSITE CAST BODY AND ITS MANUFACTURE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH02250939
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the hardness, to reinforce the matrix and to drastically improve the wear resistance in the cast body constituted of sintered carbide alloy pieces and cast iron having white pig iron structure by adding specified amounts of Cr and other carbide forming elements to the above cast iron.

CONSTITUTION: In the composite cast body, cast iron of white pig iron structure having 2.0 to 4.5% C content is substantially constituted of composite carbide of Cr and other elements (any of V, W, Ta, Ti and Nb or the combination of several ones thereamong) whose total content is formed in the ratio of 1 to 18 times the C content. In the cast body, higher hard precipitated carbide can be obtd. and more improved wear resistance can be shown as compared to the case where only Cr is added. Furthermore, in the above cast iron, the addition of ≤15% of one or more kinds among ≤10% Ni, ≤15% Mo and ≤5% Cu is effective for stabilizing the matrix, suppressing the precipitation of excess secondary carbide and preventing the lowering of the hardness of the matrix.
