PURPOSE: To prevent current collection from being disabled by detecting the abrasive state of a current collector in a carrying unit for feeding power to an electric vehicle in which a feeder line is laid along a rail and an electric carrying vehicle running along the rail is provided with a current collector sliding on the feeder line.

CONSTITUTION: An abrasion detecting part 40 entirely made of insulator is disposed at a part of a feeder panel arranged on a rail and first, second and third distance sensors 41, 42, 43 for detecting the distances L1, L2, G at the upper face, lower face, and the tip of the current collector 30, respectively, are disposed at the detecting part 40. Abrasion amounts of the thickness and at the tip of the current collector 30 are then measured based on the signals from the sensors 41-43.
