Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an absolute encoder which performs bit serial communication with communication formats adapted to many kinds of external devices without increasing the number of kinds of products and automatically sets the communication format adapted to an external device.
CONSTITUTION: A communication format adapted to a connected external device 11 is selected from communication formats, which are stored in an interface circuit 8 in an encoder control unit 4, based on the communication format discrimination signal inputted from the external device 11.
