To provide an absorbent article such as a disposable diaper and sanitary napkin whose surface structure is formed of a continuous filament, very simplifying the manufacture in forming a raised part abutting on an excretion region of a wearer at the central area on the liquid receiving side or forming a bank for preventing liquid leakage on both side parts, and achieving soft abutment touch to the skin of the wearer.
In the disposable diaper 1, the surface structure 10 is provided on the surface of an absorbent core 8. In the surface structure 10, an intermediate layer 10b is superposed on a lower layer 10a, which is a bundle of continuous filaments, an upper layer 10a is superposed thereon, and the continuous filaments of the respective layers are partially fused by a joining wire to be formed into a sheet. The intermediate layer 10b and the upper layer 10a are disposed at the central part to make the central part bulky, so that the adhesiveness to the excretion region of a wearer can be enhanced. Further, the surface structure 10 can be manufactured in such a simple process that the bundles of continuous filaments are superposed and bonded.
