A pair of grooves 51 and 51 are provided on both sides of the longitudinal direction of the face abutting against the skin in an absorption layer 10. The grooves 51 and 51 have a nearly axisymmetrical shape with respect to a centerline extending in the longitudinal direction of the absorption layer 10. Each of the grooves 51 and 51 is formed in a state of bending outwardly in the width direction in the central area of the longitudinal direction. Furthermore, the absorbent article has a pair of inside rear grooves 52 and 52, the width direction space of which gradually narrows toward the rear and a pair of outside rear grooves 53 and 53 extending further rearward of the longitudinal direction than inside rear grooves 52 in the rear part of the longitudinal direction of the absorbing layer 10.
