To provide an absorbent article for preventing a skin rash and the like by improving transpiration of sweat or the like in an expansion and contraction part in the absorbent article which has expansion and contraction parts on both side parts of at least one of an abdominal part and a back part.
A shorts type disposal diaper 1 is an absorbent article having the expansion and contraction parts G and H on both side parts of the abdominal part A and the back part B. The expansion and contraction parts G and H have: hydrophilic skin abutment surface forming sheets 21 disposed on the skin abutment surface side; hydrophobic non-skin abutment surface forming sheets 22 which are disposed on the non-skin abutment surface side; and elastic members 23a, 23b, 24a, 24b, and 26a disposed in the expanded state in a direction around the waist between the two sheets. In the shorts type disposal diaper 1, the skin abutment surface forming sheets 21 and the non-skin abutment surface forming sheets 22 are joined by a long oblong joint part 27 in the direction around the waist, and the oblong joint part 27 is intermittently formed in the direction around the waist.
