To provide an excellent absorbent article and a method of manufacturing the absorbent article.
An absorbent article (a sanitary napkin, for instance) is improved to be positioned in undergarment to absorb body exudates. The article avoids damages to the undergarment when such an absorbent article is repeatedly detached from the undergarment and while the undergarment is worn. The absorbent article includes a main portion having a liquid-permeable body side sheet, a liquid-impermeable garment side sheet on the opposite side of the body side sheet, and a liquid-absorbent core therebetween. The article has an outer edge defining the shape of the article, and a center area. The liquid-impermeable garment side sheet includes at least two parts having mechanical fastening elements with different engageability, a first part with higher engageability is located at the center area of the article, and at least one other part with lower engageability is located between the center area and the outer edge.
