PURPOSE: To obtain the titled steam absorbent composition having a corrosion preventive performance by adding a specified amt. of a water-soluble alkanolamine compd. or a water-soluble morpholine compd. and arsenites to an absorbent consisting of a lithium compd. and a zinc compd.
CONSTITUTION: From 0.01W10.0wt%, based on the absorbent, alkanolamine compd. shown by formulas IWVI (where R is a hydrogen atom or lower alkyl, R' and R" are lower alkylene, and R''' is lower alkyl) or morpholine compd. shown by formulas VII and VIII, and 0.005W1.5wt% arsenous acid or its salt are respectively added to the aq. absorbent soln. contg. about 60W80% chloride and/or bromide of lithium and chloride and/or bromide of zinc. The obtained absorbent composition has high absorptivity to steam generated from an evaporator and also has an excellent corrosion preventive performance at the contact part of the absorbent composition and further at its interface and the vapor phase part.
