The absorbent contains water absorbing resin particles, organic acid having 10 to 30 carbon atoms in a molecule and/or a salt thereof, a water soluble multivalent cation, and a reactant of the organic acid and/or the salt thereof and the water soluble multivalent cation, or contains water absorbing resin particles and a reactant of the organic acid and/or the salt thereof and the water soluble multivalent cation, and the water soluble multivalent cation is a water soluble multivalent metal salt or a water soluble cationic polymer compound having the weight average molecular weight of 2000 to 1,000,000, the content of the organic acid and/or the salt thereof is 0.0001 to 5 mass% based on the whole absorbent, and the content of the water soluble multivalent cation is 0.001 to 5 mass% based on the whole absorbent.
