The absorbent resin particle comprises a water-soluble vinyl monomer (a1) and/or a hydrolyzable vinyl monomer (a2), a crosslinking agent (b), a water-insoluble spherical single particle (c) and a binder (d) as essential constitutional units and shows a gel flow-rate retention (GR) defined by the equation: gel flow-rate retention (GR)=(G2)100/(G1) (wherein (G2) is the gel flow-rate (ml/min) measured immediately after a measurement sample is soaked in saline for 24 hr; and (G1) is the gel flow-rate (ml/min) measured immediately after the measurement sample is soaked in saline for 30 min) of 50-100%.
