Abstract:
PURPOSE: To increase the amount of a liquid absorbed and to rapidly absorb it by partitioning and defining a chamber by use of a superabsorber, and placing a permeable substance in the chamber. CONSTITUTION: A permeable material 14 in a chamber 2 which a superabsorber 10 partitions and defines functions to increase absorption performance per gram/ gram beyond the absorption performance of the superabsorber itself. The superabsorber is gelatin, an alginate, a cellulose base, a polymer, a starch, a base polymer, natural rubber, a polyacrylate, a block copolymer of ethylene and polyurethane, and the like. The permeable substance is selected from among an organic or inorganic acid, or its water-soluble or -dispersible salt, long-chain alcohol, urea and urea derivative, a monosaccharide or oligosaccharide, a water- soluble polymer, a surfactant, and the like.
