Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent liquid using a specific ionic liquid which is in a liquid state at room temperature, and excellent in absorption of a volatile organic hydrocarbon gas, and to provide an efficient removal method for the volatile organic hydrocarbon gas using the absorbent liquid.SOLUTION: A removal method for a volatile organic hydrocarbon gas comprises making a gas mixture containing the subject gas absorb in an absorbent liquid containing an ionic liquid by contacting the gas mixture with the absorbent liquid. The ionic liquid contained in the method consists of: (1) a cation being imidazolium or phosphonium; and (2) an anion being amide, succinate, sulfate or sulfonate, and at least one of the cation or anion has an alkyl side chain having the carbon number of 8 to 20. The volatile organic hydrocarbon gas is a saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon compound having the carbon number of 4 to 14, or a volatile aromatic compound having the carbon number of 5 to 8.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
