Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a pharmaceutical preparation which has actions to suppress the abnormal secretion of intestinal juice or Promote the absorption of the same by containing creosote.
SOLUTION: This pharmaceutical preparation contains, as an active ingredient, creosote or at least one selected from phenol derivatives constituting creosote, for example, guaiacol, creosol, phenol, cresol and xylenol in an amount of 0.02-60wt.% of the whole weight of the pharmaceutical preparation. The creosote is a colorless - pale yellow liquid having a smoke smell and giving a tongue-burning taste with 21 specific gravity of ≥1.064, and is useful for treatment of irritable intestine syndrome (or hypersensitive colon syndrome), abdomen dysphoria, abdominal full-consciousness, dehydration, dystrophy, gastric juice absorption insufficiency or hypersecretion caused by chemicals or toxic substances. In the oral and rectal administration, the daily dose of creosote or phenol derivatives is 1-500mg/kg/adult, while it is 0.2-300mg/kg/adult in injection.
