In the absorption type refrigerator provided with a high temperature regenerator 1, a low temperature regenerator 2, a condenser 3, an evaporator 4 and an absorber 5, having a thin absorption liquid pump 12 provided in an absorption liquid pipe 8 supplying absorption liquid of the absorber 5 to the high temperature regenerator 1 provided, having a thick absorption liquid pump 13 provided in an absorption liquid pipe 10 supplying absorption liquid of the low temperature regenerator 2 to the absorber 5 provided, a controlling device 31 controlling operation and stop of the thick absorption liquid pump 13 based on temperature (pressure) in the high temperature regenerator 1 is provided.
