Abstract:

To decrease the ammonia concn. in a water tank over a long period by sinking and laying a filter medium in a live fish transporting water tank or aquarium fish water tank or bringing the circulating water into contact with the medium to ionize and adsorb dissolved ammonia or to decompose the ammonia.

An zeolite ore contg. by weight, 69.1% silicon dioxide, 10.8% aluminum oxide, 2.35% sodium oxide, 2.2% calcium oxide, 1.29% potassium oxide, 0.48% ferric oxide, 0.25% magnesium oxide and 0.04% phosphorus pentoxide and having ≥110 mg base exchange capacity (meq/100 g) is pulverized to ≤100 μm average grain diameter or ground for a long time, the obtained fine powder is kneaded with water and granulated to the necessary grain diameter, and the grains are baked and caked to produce the adsorptive filter medium 3.
