Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an AC load drive device which suppresses a large size and cost of the device without putting a burden on a switch.SOLUTION: The AC load drive device includes: an inverter 10 which converts DC power from a plurality of DC power supplies 104a-104n into AC power, to output to an AC load 106; multilevel DC output means 20 which includes a switch for changing the relation of connection between the plurality of DC power supplies 104a-104n and the inverter 10; and a semiconductor switch 16 disposed between the inverter 10 and the multilevel DC output means 20. The semiconductor switch 16 is set to be an open state before the changeover of the switch included in the multilevel DC output means 20, so as to cut off an electrical connection between the inverter 10 and the multilevel DC output means 20, and thereafter, switch changeover control is executed to change over the switch included in the multilevel DC output means 20.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
