The accelerator operation device attached to the handle for steering of a vehicle, controlling accelerator opening by manual operation and outputting the opening as electric signal is provided with a manual operation part supported rotatably around an axis of a predetermined shaft and a detection means detecting rotation angle of the manual operation part around the axis of the predetermined shaft. The detection means includes a piston moving forward and backward in a pressure chamber according to rotation angle of the manual operation part and a pressure detector converting pressure change in the pressure chamber based on movement of the piston to electric signal.
