To provide an access control system for automatically manage entry/exit accurately by use of an identification information storage medium storing identification information of a user and a reader therefor.
The access control system includes: an identification information storage medium; a first identification information reading part provided near an entrance in a room to read the identification information of the user; and a second identification information reading part provided at a distance along a room entrance direction from the first identification information reading part to read the identification information of the user. When the read identification information of the user accord with each other, entry is decided when the first identification information reading part reads the identification information of the user first, and the second identification information reading part reads the identification information of the user, and exit is decided when the second identification information reading part reads the identification information of the user first, and when the first identification information reading part reads the identification information of the user.
