To provide an inexpensive and accurate access control system by using a cellular phone as an ACS.
This access control system comprises the cellular phone 12 held by a person present in a building, a cellular phone 13 held by a person who is expected to visit the person present in the building, and a host computer 1 having a communication interface 1d connected to the cellular phones 12 and 13 through a communication means 11. The host computer 1 comprises an ID information registration function for flow permission and security check function for persons in the building and visitors. When signals for requesting a pass through a door is transmitted from the cellular phones 12 and 13, the host computer checks whether the person in the building or the visitor is registered beforehand based on ID information on the persons in the building or the visitors. When the result of checking for the persons in the building or the visitors is OK, the computer unlocks the door allowed to pass through.
