The accessory for an automobile comprises an accessory body 10 mounted on the instrument panel 1 inside a cabin of the automobile with necessary parts assembled thereunder and a tray body 30 having extended pair of leg parts 32, 32 from both side edges of a tray part 31 allowing the parts to be placed thereon. The tray body 30 has a tip of each leg part 32, 32 rotatably mounted on each side lower part of the accessory body 10 to form a non-using state of covering a front upper part of the accessory body 10 by the tray part 31 and a using state by pulling down the tray part 31 to a user's side from the accessory body 10 and allowing the parts to be placed thereon. When the tray part 31 is in use, a constant gap S is formed between the tray part 31 and a front face of the accessory body 10 by an opening between the leg parts 32, 32, thereby the operating part 11 can be used regularly by using the gap S.
