PURPOSE: To carry and stop an object smoothly and completely by mounting a sensing roller which can be oscillated between a detecting position protruding upwards from a carrier roller and an undetectable position roughly flush with the carrier roller, and transmitting its movement to an actuator.
CONSTITUTION: A plurality of carrier rollers 10 mounted in the conveyance direction interlocks with a driving belt 12 and is rotated as a result of the driving belt 12 brought into pressure contact through a pressure roller 25 by means of the operation of actuators 20-23 with compressed air passing through a valve 40. The valve 41, when a sensing roller 30 is pressed against an object and displaced to a non-protruding position F, is kept in an OFF condition, thus keeping the actuator in an inoperative condition. At this time, the driving belt 12 is separated, and the brake arm 53 of a brake device 50 is oscillated counter-clockwise against a spring 56. A brake pad 51 is brought into pressure contact with the carrier roller 10, by which the carrier roller stops to rotate.
