To provide an actuator cylinder of an accumulator system, which provides a significant reduction of overall length to thereby enable compact packaging.

The accumulator system 26 includes: an accumulator cylinder 28; and an actuator cylinder 30 for driving an accumulator piston 32 within the accumulator cylinder 28 along an axis. The actuator cylinder 30 includes an actuator piston 34 and a multiple of nested actuator sleeves 36. In one embodiment, the actuator piston 34 is telescoped within a first actuator sleeve 36A, and the first actuator sleeve 36A is in turn telescoped within a second actuator sleeve 36B.
