To prevent the flow rate of liquid refrigerant which is discharged from an accumulator from being excessively large and maintain the necessary quantity of refrigerating machine oil in a compressor by reducing the quantity of refrigerating machine oil stored in the accumulator.
An accumulator introduces liquid and gas as a fluid which circulates in a refrigerating air conditioning circuit into a first space 1 by an inlet means 3, and discharges gas refrigerant to the refrigerating air conditioning circuit via a gas flow means 4, a second space 2 and an outlet means 5. Liquid level height holding means 7 and 8 prevent the height of liquid introduced and retained in the first space 1 from reaching a prescribed height or higher. When the height of liquid reaches the prescribed height, the liquid in the first space is moved to the second space 2 from the first space 1. Further, refrigerating machine oil retained in the first space 1 is supplied to the refrigerating air conditioning circuit by a return means 6.
