To provide a mutant having a change in the reaction of converting pyruvate into acetolactate, which is an important reaction for isobutanol biosynthesis, and further provide a production technique that increases the production of isobutanol by culturing the Escherichia coli having the mutant enzyme introduced thereto.SOLUTION: The present invention provides a mutant of acetolactate synthase and a microorganism having the mutant introduced thereto.SELECTED DRAWING: None
