PURPOSE: To obtain a new acetylene deriv. having remarkable bactericidal, insecticidal, nematocidal and miticidal actions.
CONSTITUTION: This deriv. is a compd. of formula I [where U, V and W are each H, a halogen, NO2, CN, a 1-4C alkyl or a 1-4C alkoxy; A is a 1-4C alkylidene, a 1-4C alkoxymethylidene, a 1-4C alkylthio-methlidene or a 1-4C alkoxyimino; B is OH, a 1-4C alkoxy or a 1-4C alkylamino; R is H, a halogen, CN, CF3, a 1-10C alkyl, a 3-6C cycloalkyl, an aryl, a 2-6C alkenyl, a 2-4C alkynyl, a heterocyclyl, a heteroaryl, an arylethynyl, C(O)R1, C(O)NR2R3, C(S)NR4R5 (R1-R5 are each H, a 1-4C alkyl, an aryl, a heteroaryl or the like) or the like], for example, 2-ethynylphenylglycoxylic acid methyl ester-O-methyl oxime. The compd. is obtained by reacting an O-bromo compd. of formula 2 with an acetylene deriv. of formula III in the presence of a transition metal catalyst and a base.
