Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce a fine-particle titanium oxide having a definite fine particle size and having unprecedented porosity.

CONSTITUTION: This acicular, porous and fine-particle titanium oxide has 80-120 average minor axis, 240-500 average major axis, 2.4-6.4 aspect ratio and ≥400mol.g-1 total pore volume. As a result, the particles are hardly aggregated or coagulated since the calcination temp. is low in production, the size of particle is reduced, the particle size distribution is narrowed, the particles have an almost uniform shape, and a porous titanium oxide fine particle is provided. A smooth, fine and good-quality product reduced in a foreign-matter feeling is obtained by mixing the titanium oxide. Further, various materials are held in the porous part to improve the effects of the product mixed with the oxide, and other effects are also imparted.
