Abstract:

To provide an acid pickling liquid which surely removes an oxide scale formed on a titanium surface, and also can inhibit the excessive dissolution of a titanium base material.

This acid pickling liquid for pickling titanium or a titanium alloy is an aqueous solution which contains nitric acid and hydrofluoric acid, and further is added with a fluoroimide compound. Examples of the fluoroimide compound include a chain-opened or cyclic perfluoroalkyl sulfonimide in which a cationic substituent is bonded to N. The above cationic substituent may be an alkali metal or ammonium, for instance.
