Abstract:
PURPOSE: To increase the amt. of the gas to be absorbed by using an absorbent consisting of a PE glycol ethyl ether ester having a specific constitutional formula for removing an acidic gas such as CO2, H2S or SO2.
CONSTITUTION: The PE glycol ethyl ether ester expressed by general formula (I) [where R is a straight chain or branched alkyl group (1W4C) and n is 1W3 integer] is brought as the absorbent into contact with the acidic gas such as CO2, H2S or SO2 under pressure so that the acidic gas is absorbed therein. The amt. of the acidic gas to be absorbed is made larger than in the case of using dimethyl ether of a PE glycol, propylene carbonate, etc. if such absorbent is used.
